Producer Tasting Note

Nose: Red berries, pie filling and ripe apples along for the ride with raisins, ginger, and slightly burnt dark sugar. Dark ripe plums. And a first from a High Coast single malt, we picked up notes of cherry bubble gum!

Palate: An Oloroso sherry whisky. Raisins, spices, and dark berry notes accompanied by caramel and dark sugars. As time passes on your palate, some sweet peppery notes pop through and thicken the experience.

Finish: The finish brings back more sweet spices and goes down easy, to the point that there’s no way you’d believe this was a 58.3% whisky. The finish is medium in length and does not showcase any unwanted tannins or bitterness that sherry sometimes brings. A beautifully crafted sherried whisky from High Coast Distillery and one we feel is fitting to be the 1st in our High Coast Whisky C.L.A.S.S.
