Rum Nation Savanna Traditionnel #59 62.8%
A very intense rum with a strongly oaky touch due to 13 years spent in cognac casks in a tropical climate before being laid to rest in steel tanks in Europe. Dark, dry and with a slight note of old bookstore, it needs a drop of water to release enticing aromas of cloves, bergamot, gentian root and liquorice. Its tannic character becomes stronger towards the end, with a particularly oaky and peppery final blast on the palate. Very warm and tight, a rum that betrays the volcanic intensity of the Island of Réunion.
